Copyright and DMCA Policy

softboiled respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. We respond promptly to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Reporting infringement

If you believe content on softboiled infringes your copyright, please submit a notice to our designated agent.

What your notice must include

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including its URL or location on our service.
  4. Your contact information (address, phone, email).
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Submit a DMCA Notice

Counter-notice

Users whose content is removed in response to a DMCA notice may submit a counter-notice as permitted by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). Standard 10–14 business day waiting period applies before content may be restored.

Repeat-infringer policy

softboiled terminates the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers in accordance with the DMCA. Three valid notices against a user within a 12-month window will result in termination.

Service-level commitments

We aim to acknowledge valid notices within 24 business hours and to take action (removal or pushback) within 72 business hours. Response times during weekends and holidays may be extended.
